I am a small breeder of AKC Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. We are located in Hood River, Oregon and also spend part of our time in the the beautiful state of Washington up by Mt. Adams.
The Cavalier is the perfect size dog, they are not too big and not too small, they are very good with children and love other animals. Our cats are constantly snuggling up with them. They are mellow, which was a must for me! I have seen many hyper little dogs and I knew that wasn't what I wanted. The Cavalier just loves to be with you, on your lap relaxing or going on a walk, they are the perfect companion.
Our puppies are born and raised in our home where they receive constant attention from us and our children. I feel very strongly about starting socialization at a young age. Once the puppies are a couple weeks old the kids are constantly petting and helping with the puppies. Our goal is to raise healthy, happy well socialized family members.
Our dogs have a Heart Certification from O.F.A (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and have been to a Veterinary Ophthalmologist and received their C.E.R.F certification (Canine Eye Registration Foundation). Our male that we bred to has all the same thought and care put into his health as well. We have one male and that is who we breed our females to. We believe the best way to get a healthy puppy is to start by having as many generations of healthy dogs as possible behind yours. All of this and a good Champion background will insure your Cavalier retains all of the wonderful qualities a Cavalier should have. We made sure our dogs had several generations of healthy dogs with health certifications from the O.F.A and C.E.R.F as possible.
Breeding is a hobby, not a business for me. I take it seriously and strive to produce not only beautiful Cavaliers but healthy Cavaliers that are an excellent example of everything the breed should be. I have done everything in my power to make sure we are breeding healthy, happy puppies. Many of our puppies are placed into therapy homes, as a breeder this is the temperament I breed for and what I focus on.
